Ok guys there are other ways to do this, but i prefer running custom wires from the clock to the battery... OEM clocks, will have a clip for you to just plug and play..
lol the clock i got was from a junk Saturn at school.. the teacher said no salvaged yards wanted it. so i grabbed dibs on the clock lol.. its great
it has a timer too! i can run 1/4 miles my self
Ok things you will need
2-3 Wires depending on your clock..
i had awkward colors..
Green was power..
black was negative (ovbiosuly)
and i had a orange 1 for light..
yours might vary, you might have to try them all out.. once again my clock is off a saturn.
Youl need a size 10 mm wratchet
and electrical tape.
Ok step 1..
(i had to break the plastic piece out where the clock would normally sit)
don't know if you will have to also, might just pry out.
Your clock should/will (if you dont your screw) have a clip that goes into it with the wires pinned.. once again i cut the clock off the saturn so i had to make my own custom little harness for it
Heres what it will look like when you bust the plastic peice out..
To mention once again, if your installing a oem clock you dont have to do any of the other steps exept just plug and play .. you will see a clip that will go straight into the clock..
After you did this, there is a hole in the fire wall. Run the end of the wire (the side that will go into the clock) through the fire wall under the dash..
Pop off the other peice of plastic thats next to your rear window defroster
(this is the easiest way to hide all the cable)
if you have to use a clothes hanger to direct the clip to get it through to the clock opening hole that you punch out..
You will have to take this booth off
if you dont good luck trying to get it anywhere..
Now after youv cursed up a storm, and the the wires thru the fire wall and into the clock area.. or atleast far enough so you can plug it,
you start outside
Take off your battery terminals
Wrap your wires that are connect to your clock.. postive's to postive.. neg to neg...
wrap the wires all up in electrical tape.. also to keep heat away
Make sure to wrap enough of it everywhere..
Now with the terminals stick the clock wires into , or wrap them around the terminals as in the pic below
And don't forget to put electrical tape around them too..
tuck everything in nicely.... your clock should work from the moment u connect the terminals..
be careful not to hit your fuel filter while screwing down the positive terminal
mine has a pretty little battle scar from me not being careful lol
and your all done! a DX with a saturn clock LOL!!
ANYWAYS! that is it, its not hard its just a hastle trying to run all the wires everywhere inside the dash (if u dont just pull the dash off)
There are many other ways to do this i just wanted to put up the 1 that takes longest.. You can also just run the wires directly that are already there... they are already hooked up to the battery etc...
be careful, have fun. and whatever you do dont get pissed and tear wires out....
