Yesterday I replaced my cluster lights with LED bulbs according to DIY. Cluster lights up perfectly. After that I re-installed the cluster today.

Now the fuel gauge needle goes up and stays at the top all the time. And Turn signal lights and Signal lights aren't working. But hazards are working and when Hazards are on even the cluster indicator lights are blinking, so no bulbs are blown. Everything else is fine. Plugs were on properly. Checked all the fuses under dash/hood, none were blown. No CEL. Din't mess with anyother wires either. Wondering what might have gone wrong....

Pls help me figure out what's wrong

took out the new bulbs and tried the turn signal. Wasnt working :S

Signals are working. But only the fuel gauge isn't, guys any suggestions?? :S

- Mon Jun 22, 2009 6:35 pm #125033 did you check the ground cable right behind the cluster. it is physically attached to metal piece. an indication that its loose will be your radio not working.

I had similar problem, except both my fuel and water gauges went up high. the ground was not connected (my fault), fixed the problem except my fuel gauge is still up. some people say it could be the floater in the fuel tank and how its stuck to the top, but im not sure.

- Wed Jun 24, 2009 7:13 am #125465 well, I figured out the issue with the fuel gauge. There are rotors behind those gauges, in them thin strand wires connect on each poles. One of those wires were broken, soldered it and now it works fine.

Now the cluster lights up fine. But now i have another question

What is the following light? Dint light up earlier, maybe coz the bulb wasn't working earlier.....

Check cat light? Wth z tht lol

Its a JDM cluster, JDM car. Anyway yeah it's catless right now lol. But I think this is something else?

Maybe heater? defroster?

Hey, it seems like you were correct. Maybe it could be the Cat Temp warning light. But mine is de-catted and the light is on even while the car has not been started. So it is confusing

- Sun Jun 28, 2009 8:44 pm #126505 shot in the dark if it was a cat temp light. lets say the jdm eg's had a sensor by the car. if your car dosent have one it would cause to light to go off indicating a fault, thus setting off the light.

quick fix. put electical tape over the light

yep, these guys on a local forum said it could be the cat temp light. Ehh no I dint bother to go under the car and check whether there is a sensor or wires or anything. Anyway mine is catless, straight pipe with an after market header, so no use.

heh heh yep bro, I just turned the bulb other way around
