hey my brother has a 1994 honda prelude si with the h23a1 non vtec

i was drivin it one day and the timing belt snapped on me, from what i know is that once that happens your valves stay open and the pistons bend the valves, but the internet sayes that the h23a1 is non interference

i was wondering if someone knew if its non interference or interference

thanks

It is definitely an interference engine.
I would pull the head and inspect it. However, I've heard about people snapping a timing belt but not damaging anything.

well i took it apart a few weeks ago, only 8 of the 16 were bent
so im gonna say that its a non interference, i think the only reason they were bent is that there was too much carbon build up but we are gettin a new one from japan for 1600 that everything out the door

but ive been thinkin bout swapin the vtec h23[blue top]
