meaning what K24 block with what head?

I'm not a fan of K-series but I hear K24 block with K20 head is a good combo

the k24a2(TSX) is the best K24 you can get.

Or you can take a K24a(CRX) Block and put a K20a(Civic Type R)/K24a2 (RSX Type S) Head on it. and you have pretty much the same engine.

When your done building your engine attaching it to a RSX Type S 6 Speed is the way to go


Stay away from the k20a3 (economy Vtec). and the K24a4. The K24a4 block can be modified to work with the K20a/a2 heads. however alot more work is involved then with the K24a/a2 blocks.

If your in North America, or buying USDM Engines(or at least heads), Stay away from any "Honda" Badged Engines, they have the "Economy Vtec." The "Acura" Badged Engines have the Preformance Vtec you want. However since Acura only exists in North American and China.

Happy Hunting. That K24a2 with the RSX Type S tranny will be insanely fun to drive. Someday I hope to drop this into a EG/EJ

From what I have read, the K24a block and the K20a/k20a2 head will have slightly more power due to it have better flow. Some people even swap there K24a2 heads for K20a/K20a2 heads.
If your as intrested in the K blocks as I am, Check out K20a. I learned tons about the K blocks there.

One day I want to have a Boosted K24a2 or a K24a block with k20a/k20a2 head in my car.

Guys just to add to this thread. What do you mean exactly by which is the best K24?

All of the K24 blocks will bolt directly to K20 head with no modification.

When building K24/K20 you have several choices in blocks. K24A1 CRV, K24A2 TSX, K24A3 and K24A4

K24A3 and K24A4 comes in the Accord and Element

If building a cost effective setup use K24A1 CRV because you will not need to change any internals of the block.

K24A2 TSX is a better bang because it is a higher compression setup but TSX blocks are harder to come by and cost a bit more.

K24A3 and K24A4 are your best bet for complete builds because you cannot use the oem pistons and rods. Ideal for guys who want to do a complete build with aftermarket pistons and rods. Also these blocks cost less than K24A1 and K24A2

So it really depends on your budget and what type of build you want to do.

When your done building your engine attaching it to a RSX Type S 6 Speed is the way to go

the six speed is a nice feature but the word on clubrsx is that 5spd is the way to go if you want to go boost

K24a8/a1 complete longblock, don't change your k24 head for a k20 head, just get your k24 head and put 06+ civic si rocker assembly, with the RBC manifold that bolts right on to the a8, now you have a 3 lobe system on a head that flows 300+ cfm.
