#356161 hail y'all, quick question...

my inner firewall had some material on it (you will see in pic1), something like a padding.. i removed it (you will see in pic2) when i had the plan to do a brake line relocation to the inner firewall. the plan changed and i have left the hard lines on the outer firewall.

:headscratch:
i am now wondering with the inner firewall as bare as you dare , will i experience heat in the cabin? please note i am going to use bonnet risers, will this relieve some of the heat that would normally be absorbed by the firewall and transferred to the interior of the car?

AC is a big priority with this car and I wouldn't want anything to hinder the cooling of the cabin, especially with the fact it already wont be tinted

#356687 hail y'all... i post dejected, disheartened... trying to make sense of this :(

been having a real warm time with the guys at the garage [smilie=argue.gif] ... they know nothing about customer service or customer satisfaction.. alot of the stuff i have overlooked and allowed to go by without making a fuss, but some i cannot.

some of my parts cannot be found. parts that based on what i bought, in some instances i had more than 1, now i have none :?:. nobody can account for it.. even my $&^**&% key cannot be found.

i have made the hard decision, one that will definitely affect the timeline of the project. i told them to pack my shit up and i have sent a wrecker and moved the car to a friend's house. hopefully on Saturday i can go by and do a proper inventory check to ascertain what will be needed again :(

i will definitely post pics of her at her new home :( :(

#359126 Hail peeps... it has been quite a long time. after this incident it took me awhile to overcome the grief i was feeling and i think i am now ready to refocus my attention to this project.

following the close assessment i did when the car was moved, the following were found to be missing. They may be little stuff but they are very hard to get parts, some i am still unable to re-purchase, others i had to buy in some very awful state;

# 2 door covers ( i have since bought 3 more and the center piece hard plastic on all have crystallized and became dismantled when trying to remove them..i am still hunting for these) will post pics.

# Clutch reservoir bottle (since located)

# Door sash trimming for both front doors (replaced 1.. still looking for another)

# ALL rubbers and linings for ALL doors (since replaced... not new but they will work)

# Wiper Cowl (since replaced... didn't even know this had a name till when i was trying to replace it lol)

# 1 of my steel braided brake lines (to be replaced)

# my car key (need to change the ignition barrel.. not comfortable in using the same barrel, especially if they happen to find it later down the road)

# roof liner (to be replaced)

that is what i recall now, if i remember anymore i will post it

i will post next steps in another reply in a minute.

#359134 next steps...

the car was moved to my friends home and has been there since. i checkup on her occasionally, she is perfect :)

i am due for vacation from may 30 for 2 weeks. the intention is to spend the first week with the car, so from the 30th to 6th. things to accomplish;

# install ALL mechanical parts - (including spraying of parts etc)
# put in all fluids.. i.e. brake, engine/gearbox oil, radiator etc.
# install AC (including gas)
# install dashboard (including gauge cluster, steering etc)

i will be off the island for a minute so i want to get it to the electrician the evening of the 6th, using a wrecker. not sure how long he will take with it. things to accomplish there;

# complete re-wiring
# complete wire tuck
# relocate battery to rear
# relocate fuse box

the car should be driven from the electrician when he is finished. everything should work perfectly.. windows, horn, gauges, AC, all lights, wiper etc.

what would be outstanding is the interior, the tires and the fit up of the body, to include buffing. these will be done when it is back at my friends home.

definitely will take pics of everything... really good to be back :D

stay tuned!!

#359136 sharing some pics of what occurred in the background over the period.. so upset :( :(

these are the 2 door covers that were recovered. the front left and rear right are missing. the ones that have gone missing were in identical condition

Image

these are the conditions i have had to settle for as replacements, just cant find the damn things anywhere :x

Image

this is what repeatedly happens when trying to remove the center for cleaning

Image

decided to still push ahead and have them cleaned and sprayed with the duplicolor.. so i am still in hunt for either 2 panels with good inserts or 2 inserts
