Believe me I really want to finish this but swapping this into another shell and it all being stock (except turbo) is not worth it to me at this time. If the engine was built I would go ahead and make it work in the new chassis but it's not.

For now it's going to sit on the back burner and my new build will be a dedication build for my best friend I lost earlier this year.

Thanks again for staying interested and I'm aiming to be ready to roll by october this year! (maybe sooner!)

im tuned in either way :thumb: :thumb:

#333785 Thanks bud!

So I'm doing some research into breather setups. I already have a b18a1 block (doing lsv turbo) and it has a breather box from factory. For my goals I will need to have an external catch can setup and I'm trying to decide on an affordable route.

A few companies offer a kit where it replaces the freeze plugs on the back and has two fittings that you can run lines to a catch can.

Example from Z10 motorsports

As you can see the optional catch can for that kit only has two ports. I assume this would be fine for a med to high hp N/A engine. Since I will be boosted I figure an additional two would be needed in the valvecover since the crankcase pressure would be much higher.

Can anyone verify that? I haven't looked at any setups online yet, just seeing if I can get any additional info while I'm searching. Thanks for any input!

#334065 Found an alt. Turns out alot of people actually use the oil ports? from an accord/prelude. They just thread into the block where the freeze plugs are, love how honda makes everything work together haha.

Picked up jdm b16a head that already has been setup to be used on lsv setup and has supertech valve springs installed for $220! Gonna replace the LMA's then pick up my buddies type r cams for a low low price! Also picked up a set of golden eagle cam gears for $100 as well! :thumb: :thumb:

Selling my glowshift gauges and buying the Turnerview II to replace the afr and boost gauge(s), much more accurate and eliminates the 3 gauge pod that sticks out like a sore thumb.

Needless too say things are moving! Haha

#334130 Not much to update, took off the rear suspension (had cut lowering springs) and will replace with stock rears to become 4x4 again. Started much later than usual so didn't much more done just took care of some front end stuff.

Gonna be a pause on progress (not much updating until the block is sent out and returned). But always doing something! :)

Ill post a pic once I get the rear suspension put back on :thumb:

#334294 Finally got the rears done! Such a pita when you don't have the proper tools to take care of things like that. Still slow progress, finally decided on which gauge to buy and ordered it. Can't wait to install.

In other news its so damn hot! 105, 107, 103 for the rest of the week then calling for rain for the weekend  Needless to say I'll be staying in doors so I won't suffer the mild heat stroke I had earlier in the week again!

Be back....whenever  (soon hopefully)

#334771 just read it all man, i can't wait to see that f-series come together. i love a single slammer making good power. until then b's are a cheap and effective means to good power in our cars (not that b's are cheap lol, just that they are cheaper than a k or the hassle you were having with that f)

Yeah man I put so much effort into that f just have to start over again. I'm not too upset, it was a learning experence for me (a costly one at that). But I still have faith on a well built f will be worth the effort later down the road. :thumb:

#335222 More work slowly getting done (not much to do anywhere else). About to pick up a set of je pistons (hopefully). Hopefully have enough to swing for part one of the machine work. Eta of mid/end of October is a stretch but I think I'm still good.

Stay tuned :thumb:

#335266 Maybe no pics Thursday (Its gon rain :x )

Found out my current turbo (that I havent used) cant support my power goals, so I've been alot of research and at first I was going to go with a precision 5858 but I've been seeing ALOT of failure rates with their turbos lately (they argue with you but they end up replacing the turbo anyway). So since Garrett and borg warner are the only two manufactures that actually make turbos (everyone else is usually a rebranded garrett/honeywell) I've decided to go with garrett (since I can't afford a borgwarner).

Here is my choice:

Supports my goal with ease so the turbo is not struggling to make power and is within my price range! This is going to be a future purchase but it will be on the setup when its ready to go.

Stay tuned :)

#335268 Garrett used to be in my top 3 of trusted turbos until the quality went downhill. First the fins got thinner and more fragile, the they used cheaper materials in the housings. Honestly in my humble opinion and experience of making 1000+ whp on single turbo set up I have it labeled down to 1. Holset, 2. Precision, 3. Borg. Take it as you will that's my opinion.
