#250784 i guess lol tho this weather is preventing me from doing much of anything to finish my updates.....but i will say that i am in the middle of fender marker lights, front bumper swap, and fixing the rear bumper so i have a oe looking licence plate setup as well as no rust on the rear mount as those are next to impossible to find.......other then that not really anything new im working on getting the g/f a car right now lets just say i worked on this car before and its perfect for her (1990 honda civic dx hatch) in fairly decent condition.

but yea not much update just researching diy's and other things like that getting parts set aside possibly going to do either an eg (w/ a honda mini van 1996 black face ) climate control swap or 90-93 accord climate control im likeing the accord but i have everything for the eg already lol....

#251816 so like i said ive been consuming myself with projects and really havent had the time to update with pictures we;; since i live in a crap hole of awesome weather and since my welder is outside well im to a point where i need it and cannot use it so might as well post some pics before i get too many and have a rather large post.....

So I guess ill start off with pics of how the car looks like now and has for the past two weeks due to the shitty weather and work....

i miss driving it so much this spring isnt much of a spring when its raining every day and is getting to be below freezing again!

Anyhow another reason its taking me awhile to get the car together is the amount of projects i set forth upon myself.....

one of the ones i was most scared to do was the fender markers but i just grabbed my ruler went thru a couple of diys and felt semi comfortable....well the markers i had unknown to me where ep3's my heart sank when i test fitted them and well they went in but where easily moved around. so the guy i got them from had eg ones but would not be able to meet up with him for a week.....so i went on ebay and said screw it bought a set of ef side markers later finding out that they where comming from new zeland  well thinking i may have to put the car back together with a hole in the fenders i thought to myself how to make the ep3s work and well after looking at a eg write up i found the efs where close to the same dimensions so waited for those worked out a deal for some of the v8 edlebrock stuff i had laying around that wasnt worth much of anything did a trade got the markers and the next day the ef markers came in a week ahead of schedule.....
Image

Image

Image

dont have pics of the ep3 or eg markers but heres the efs after they just arrived
Image

So after my fenders where sorted and during the whole fender fiasco i decided to check the all mighty bumper supports and also do the civic "shuttle" bumper swap....Thankfully my front support was fine as the wagon i took it off of was rust free :x why the hell would you put something like that in a junk yard!.....so that cleaned up decently and did not need any repairs....
didnt take a before picture as i was just working diligently

Image

I used this to paint the rust found it in home depot looking for the fabric glue spray and some other things that will be used on other projects....

Image

well now that was done i went about doing the rear
unlike the front the rear was not so good thankfully there where only 3 major areas i had to cut out and a wiring brush took care of the rest.
Image

Actually found a sneaky shot of the front core support before hand lol and the rear bumper free of its support
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

template time
Image

So after cutting out three sections and making three templates and then cutting them out on metal im at this point

Just thought id update show how things where progressing this not having a garage thing blows but cant do much about it but do what i can and wait for a decent day to where i can finish alot of the other projects i have laying around.....

So let me know what you think :)

#252216 boy john i'm digging the progress its looking so clean, ya know i'm going to bug you to put that interior back together right lol i love the ef fender lights!i was wondering on the body work, can you remove that rust that was welded over from the inside since the interior is stripped any ways? And again keep us posted.

Dont worry interior will go in after paint when ever thatll be lol

but rust wise im just going to get in there with new panels since theres just too much bondo on the car in areas so im just going to redo it properly and rustproof the crap out of it too as i doubt id get all the rust correctly....

new updates comming up shortly :thumb:

#252379 here you are just a small update seeing as i have been slowly progressing in between spirts of rain 3rd straight week of rain and its mainly just drizzle here drizzle there and some storms.....

got this in the mail today so happy i mean i know how to do alot but if i have any questions this shall be my bible :-)b

Image

comparison to a haynes manual
Image

and today the project was to get teh pink and white rims down to the bare bones ( these rims i had for awhile and i painted them for an ex/gf so yea now that they are in use on my car no need for that color scheme and low n behold there where more then just my paint layers on the rims......
Image

as they sit now after countless aircraft paint stripper sessions, wire brush sessions and of coarse a power washer
Image

Image

Image

Image

still got the back two to do but thankfully they are not painted unless theres more underneath the coating thats on it now.....
Also did some welding and some more painting but no pics as of yet hopefully shortly tho today ill get everything finished up

#252492 Well lets add another update shall we as another storm hits of coarse but got alot done and ive found in my junkyard some nice things that i shall be using anyhow heres some updates

what i found in my junkyard i smell a cable to electronic speedometer swap
Image

crv--surprised that this was still in the car when i got there even the b20 was there---
Image

and ek ex cluster found the auto outside the junkyard and just snagged the guage so now its a manual cluster
Image

next as it was a beautifl day i decided to paint the front bumper primer black for now till i get enough money to get a really nice paint job of the oem y49
Image

finished the welding of the rear bumper support it works for now but im going to be trying to track a nice one down and get it to where it wont ever rust ever! as mine was rather far gone....
Image

Image

And then off to paint
Image

Image

and while it was drying i decided i would see how the side markers fit now there was a need for some finessing even with the measurements being exact but all in all turned out well.....
Image

Image

Image

and then i had to pack up because of this
Image

but before it rained i did a quick dusting of my new rim color cant wait to do it right

Image

so for now that is it on pictures and updates i think i should have about another day or two left before the car is back on the ground im starting to smell gas every now and then on the outside near the tank so i think i may look into a fuel cell for the racing this car shall be doing....anyhow let me know what you think

#252560 Not a huge fan of that copper color, but those side markers and that bumper and support came out very well. That bumper support looks 100% better great job!
