the only thing that worries me about the JDM motors is.. it has been a good 10+ years since its ran. keep your fingers crossed for me fellas, lets hope she fires right up!!!!

^thanks man!
because of how close the Evo O2 housing is to the block, the manifold/turbo/downpipe have to all come out as one piece..
worlds longest civic downpipe

actually, both axles were put in at the same time. the pass side one is just much dirtier
it also might have caught some fluids spilling when the motor came out
I really don't like puck clutches. I am gonna stay away till i absolutely have to. unless the OEM exedy i had was an absolute freakshow, i should be alright. the CC rep seemed to think so..

^ engagement, chatter, life, much more abuse to my diff/axles.. and two of my buddies are having this issue..
http://youtu.be/eCc2pDZHQwk
watch the EK. once he put it on the 2-step to launch, the clutch very slightly starts grabbing without him letting off at all. this is not an adjustment/pedal height issue, it's the clutch, and it's not very old.

the old girl all stripped down..
JDM B18b now has the.. Intake mani, alternator, freeze plug adapters, oil plate and clutch/flywheel. Also did Timing belt/water pump and a new thermostat. All that's left is the dizzy. waiting to put the oil pan on till the motor is in

Ahhh I seeeeee so that's what happens?? hmmm and there is no way around that at all? staging brake? im sure that's what a staging brake would prevent.. damn that run must have sucked for him, did it make him jump the light?

SHE'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!
ready to go..
why does the rear t mount gotta be such a bitch!
Cranked the motor over quite a bit with the dizzy unhooked to get everything oiled up but.. couldn't get the oil light to go out. looked for leaks but didnt see any so i hooked up the dizzy. she fired right and the oil light instantly went out. let it run for a while trying to get the air out of the coolant but couldn't get it to "burp".. fan kicked on but it seemed like the thermostat wasn't opening. it's brand new but i've heard of them failing right out the box. the lower radiator hose stayed cold.. gonna try again tomorrow. gonna put my oil gauge on to see what's up with that too before she goes on the road.
motor did sound healthy though. gotta get all the bugs out and some miles on the new clutch before my dyno appointment on the 1st

got all the bubbles out, running nice and cool. now my speedo's not working and my clutch master cylinder is leaking a little bit on the inside. gonna change the master and clean up the connection on the VSS. the VSS it self is fairly new, might be time for another damn cluster
motor does run nice and smooth though. before, if i left the car in gear and was completely off the throttle like when going downhill, when i'd hit the gas again it would put out a nice little puff of smoke. this motor doesn't do that at all which leads me to believe the rings/valve seals are in great shape
