#330999 Haha thanks bud!
And I actually bought them off eBay.
They have a set of panels for $115.00 shipped.
Mine were at my door in like 6 days.

Really good quality panels in my opinion, good size gauge and perfect fitment, no issues yet.

And I know hey! You did a good job on them, haven't tried them out yet but from your old pictures they seem amazing, I am just about to order a set of 85122+ Phillips bulbs too.

Haha any yeah definitely keep an eye on my thread, it's going to make some progress soon, plus I may need a hand from you. I have a buddy that works at Shadow Tint and myself, we will be wrapping my car in high gloss black once I get the rear panels fixed and new bumpers. I could definitely use another hand to make it go faster. Case of beer in it for ya? Haha

#331297 Well kind of an update. :thumb:
Got around to spraying the engine bay down with degreaser and pressure
washer to get all of the power steering gunk and other crap out.

And started sanding and grinding down all of the holes that will be shaved in
only have a few more to go and then I will start welding everything in place.

So as of today my "To Do List" is:
- Grind down posts in engine bay and weld in all extra unused holes.
- Fill and sand down whole engine bay and prep for paint.
- Trim and weld in new quarter panels.
- Body fill and shape quarter panels.
- Fix all little dents and dings on body and prep for vinyl wrap.
- Remove all suspension and install all Energy Poly Bushings.
- Install rear disk conversion.
- Paint Engine Bay
- Vinyl Wrap Car
- Finish tucking all the wires for headlights and accessories.
- Install interior, roll cage, bucket seats and harnesses.
- Figure out placement for Battery Relocation.
- Get on B build and install.

Probably more but that's my list in order for now.
Keep an eye out and give me your 2cents.

Thanks for looking guys and gals.

#331488 your bushing replacement idea is great! Although the draw back to bushings is pressing out olds and pressing in new ones are a pain in the butt. If you are to replace them I would highly suggest suja1 or hard race bushing kit.
The hardened rubber bushing kits are is similar to oem material. I am not aware of how much more "hardened" the rubber is compared to oem. They do allow for flex, and roll.
The poly bushing kits are extremely stiff. They will give limited amount of flex and roll. The price is half of what hard rubber bushing kits are though.

I was kinda :( when I started seeing a bunch of different colors on the car. Guess it keeps it different.

Roll them rear quarters before you do filler and primer. Will eliminate you doing it after and possibly cracking the body work.

#331492 AutoXRacer I google searched Honda forums and civic-eg.com came up in the search and when I got here I started looking around to see if anyone had done a wire tuck and had created a post about it. So I searched up wire tuck in the search bar and your build project came up. I just wanted to say that what you have done to the car so far is amazing. It has come a long way from the day you bought it. Honestly I created a profile for this forum because of your build alone. I wanted to follow it and watch it become whatever it is that you have envisioned in your head.

ON a side note you mentioned you wanted to wire tuck your car and I wondered if you had ever looked into pre-tuck wire tuck harnesses? I created a thread on it that was moved to the proper spot by teal_dx(thankyou) and wanted to see if I could help out. If you wanna spend a little more on a wire tuck and save the hassle check out the thread I made that has the links in it. http://civic-eg.com/viewforum.php?f=12

Again.. great build. Doing wonders for the Honda world right there. Its awesome to watch it happen.

Thank you for your input, and I am doing a full polyurethane swap, so it will be stiff as hell since I am also putting different spring rate coilovers on for the added stiffness. It will be amazing for circuit racing and AutoX.

As for the different colors, I really only have Black and Neon Green. Once I am finished with the body work and filling in the engine bay I will be vinyl wrapping the entire car a Triple Gloss Black and I will be turning the lip kit back to black as well. As I will be spraying my engine bay Neon Green and keeping the roll cage green. All to be determined once I get to that stage but I will see what I have in mind.

Panic989:
Thank you for your support! I am proud that people do appreciate a build and are inspired by it to start their own and watch others progress, I actually did this for the same reason from TealDX's ride. His wire tuck and paint job and build inspired me to make a thread about mine. (as I was already started on it). I wanted to have it done for the Driven2013 show here in Calgary today, but since I have a newborn baby girl at home I do not get to work on my car as much as I would like to, but when I do I try and get things done. Hopefully all my new panels and the engine bay will be all welded the next time I hit the garage.

And as for the wiring harness, I am still under the heat about getting the Rywire one or just building my own. Because I am building up my B18C and I want my engine bay to look absolutely flush, so I may do it myself because that way I know exactly where I want to run things and if I need to do anything or swap anything. But I still may change my mind about it, we will see when that time comes.

But thank you both for the support. It's always nice to have some encouragement when building something that will you will love and also others will love.

Haters can hate all day, wasting their breath is all I hear from their mouths.

#331593 I will have to look and find Tealdx's build thread and see how his car came out. I did recently talk to a guy on here that is going to check into prices on a stock harness your new out where he leaves because they are much cheaper. But... If I do end up going three pre tucked route and you haven't tucked yours yet I will let you know how everything fits together and the wires get tucked away because I have the engine you are building already in my car. :thumb:

#331615 Shaving a bay is the most body work I've ever done - stick with it and take your time and you'll be happy in the end :thumb:

#331620 Yeh definitely do, if to u swap in the tucked harness let me know how it runs and hides. I went to Calgary's Driven 2013 car show today and seen a few cars with some rywire harnesses. I just can't seem to justify bringing myself to spend $800 on a harness.

The only way I will spend that is if I do go the mil spec detachable harness on the firewall. That's the only one I will buy, so if you do go that route let me know and I will definitely consider it.

And teal_dx, I am definitely going to take my time because I want this thing show worthy but I will also drive it when it's nice out. I wanted it ready for this years Driven Show but that didn't happen because of my daughter so I will definitely be taking my time and just get it ready for next years driven show.

#331621 Where did you see the rywire harness for $800? The Milspec ones I put posted up were going for $500... I may still go that route but currently ballin on a budget so depending on what another member comes back with on a price of a OEM harness from a junkyard I will probably do my own wire tuck.

#331623 Teal - I looked at your whole build thread... Man that is a nice little hatch. Love all the different wheels you have for them. Definitely inspired me. Seeing your thread makes me want to post a build thread on here when I get my hatch back back (its down due to a title issue). I would like to do one on the local thread but because AZ has so many thieves running around that is the last thing I'm going to do. Big plans in the noodle just need the money to support the habit. lol.

Autox - I still haven't heard anything on the stock harness yet but im still debating the Rywire one. Like I said earlier I just need the money to get one or the other. Leaning more towards the stock harness now though just so that I can do all the wiring myself and learn a little more about the car. You know? Have you had a chance to check out the links on the wire tuck thread I started yet? those harnesses are way less than $800....

#331637 Well straight from Rywire.com the B series MilSpec harness is $599 not including any add-ons. And for me I want the quick disconnect plug and play for the firewall so if I want to take the engine out, all I have to do is unplug that single firewall plug instead of all the little plugs.

And including some of the add-ons that I want including the seperated charge harness and a few other things my total is $1,174.00 straight from the Rywire website. Lol

It's about the same price for Chasebays. But I am probably going to reroute and tuck my own harness that way I know where everything is and I can make it as tucked as possible. And I will see about buying a quick disconnect firewall plug and pins for the connector to do the same thing I want. I know Civic_HatchSI has started making her own. If you take a look at her last 5 pages on her build you will see the plug.

Edit: The plug is on page 56 of her build thread.

#331648 This is the link to the page on her build with the quick disconnect plug for the engine harness.

Her build is unreal, if you get a chance read through all 59 pages, just pure sex. Haha
