Low fuel slow to start?

Postby Michaelcoker » Fri Jun 26, 2015 12:27 pm

Hey everyone,

I've got something weird going on with my EX. Anytime the fuel gets below half a tank it takes a very long time to start. It will turn over strong 8 or 9 times before it actually starts. Fill up the tank and it start up perfect. Maybe some kind of fuel pressure issue? Has anyone experienced this before? :?

Take a look at the quick and obvious things,
gas cap loose, loss of fuel from at the fuel filter, lose of pressure at the fuel pressure reg on the rail.
Then you could start digging deeper if not any of those things.

Well problem is fixed (kind of). If I turn the key to the on position for a couple of seconds and let the fuel pump run it starts right up. Good enough! 8)

Sounds to me , the fuel pressure reg on the rail.

On my car , with the bigger fuel rail and the better FPR, I have to turn the ket twice before starting.
Havent change the pump just yet.

Sounds like either a weak fuel pump or faulty fuel pressure regulator.
