Exterior door handle. Built in nut popped off help

Postby cjw_89 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 12:14 am

So I am.getting ready to strip my car dowm for paint and theres nothing more I hate then painted body trim and door handles. We all know the door handle bolts to the door buy two 10mm bolts. But one each door handle the nut thats fixed into the handle popped out. My idea was to tap a nut down in the hole and jb weld around it to keep it in ...open to ideas

I think replacement would be the best option really. You don't want a failure down the road. I don't know how far you are from a wrecker, but that is the best route to go.

Bondo dust and superglue. Shit sets like concrete ;)
Make sure you get it behind and around the nut, not just spread over the top. Don't get it on your fingers or in the thread lol
