Stumped!

- Tue Aug 21, 2007 9:40 pm #20659 Well my car has always been uneven since i bought it, so i just purchased a set of maxspeed 3" lowering springs, they are about an inch shorter than the ones in it which i assume are 2" ones.

So i installed the new springs, all the bump stops out, and the car sits EXACTLY the way it was :?

With that much drop, you MAY want to get the Koni's shortened, btw.

Also, what are these koine things? are they cheap, i know i dont have money

koni yellow are shocks that are adjustable they run for about $125 each... but yeah bushings can be the problem too...

better shocks will make the ride more stable and less bouncy than with the oem ones :thumb:

tokico hp go for about 300 and they are pretty good... i heard kyb are pretty cheap too

- Wed Aug 22, 2007 2:24 am #20723 Are the spring rates a lot higher than OEM? If not, and it's a street car, I'd agree with saving money with the Tokico's. Either way, I'd call them and make sure you get the right shock for that much drop...or have them shortened.

If the springs are a lot stiffer than OEM, I'd go with the Koni's, when you can afford them. If not, especially if you race the car, you'll risk blowing out the shocks. :cry:

FWIW, I put Koni's on mine, with OEM springs (for now). The car didn't handle better...it handled like a totally DIFFERENT car! :thumb:

At full soft, it feels 10x better...sportier, more responsive...just plain better. On full firm, they help the soft OEM springs a TON and it feels like a race car! :woot:
